Holding each of my kids' hands we made our way up the many flights of stairs in Sheldon’s apartment building since the elevator was broken and I had picked them up from school. Taking out my apartment key the door opened and Penny came out seeing that we had just gotten home. “Hey guys, I’m going over to hang out at the guys apartment if you want to join me.”

“Can we, momma?” Maya and Grady both begged me at the same time with puppy dog eyes.

Slumping my shoulders I pointed a finger at them. “Fine but you two have to do your homework before bed tonight okay.” The twins agreed, running over to their Uncle Sheldon’s apartment.

Penny opened their door letting us walk in before she waved to the three already sitting in the living room area. “Hey y’all, this is my friend Y/n and her kids Maya and Grady. I invited them over if that’s cool.”

“Sure. The more the merrier.” The guy wearing a green jacket replied who was named Leonard according to my friend.

“What no. That’s a false equivalency. More does not equal Mary. If there were two thousand people in this apartment right now would we be celebrating. No, we would be suffocating.” Sheldon, who was sitting on the end of the couch closest to the window, began complaining.

“Sheldon—“ Leonard grumbled.

Sheldon fought back. “We ordered for four people, not seven.”

“Oh come on. We’ll just put it all on the table. You know family style.” Penny sat down on the bar stool she took from the kitchen island, lifting open the pizza boxes on the table.

Sheldon put his hands behind his back imitating her Nebraska accent. “Sure. And while we’re at it why don’t we put our hands behind our backs have an old fashioned eaten contest.”

“Relax, it'll be fine. Sit down you guys.” Leonard responded before I saw a girl with straight dark hair and glasses walking over to us.

“Hi, we haven’t met yet. I’m Amy, Sheldon’s girlfriend. It’s nice to meet you.”

My mouth flew open in shock. “Sheldon Lee Cooper got a girlfriend. Dang I owe Marlowe ten bucks.”

“Yeah. We met at a coffee shop.” She smiled, shifting her eyes down to my kiddos. “What are your kids names?”

“This is Maya.” Lowering myself down on my knees I put my right hand on my daughter's shoulder first and then switched to doing the same with my son. “And this is Grady.”

The twins waved at the same time. “Hi Amy.”

Currently the girl team was winning against the boys giving me and the twins quite the show at the different levels they went through. Sheldon and Penny were finishing spinning their foreheads on Star Wars lightsabers and running over to solve a long division problem on the white boards. Penny dropped her stick and nearly fell onto Maya and Grady sitting on the couch. “Woah, woah Penny.”

“Long division. Long division go, go.” Amy told the pair who stumbled over to the white boards.

Leonard reminded them. “Remember to show your work.”

“I’m okay. I’m okay - I’m not okay.” Sheldon began solving the problem while holding onto the side of the board as he drew a scribble straight down the middle. Slapping my hands over my mouth I tired to conceal my laughter when he completely fell over onto the floor from being so dizzy.

Leonard threw his arms away from his sides. “Get up we can’t lose at math.”

“37.” Penny cheers on finishing the problem.

Amy cheers proudly. “Yes!”

The next competition I let the kids play. Amy was sitting on the floor with Penny beside her. “Ready, set, wrestle.”

“Ah!” Sheldon screamed as his niece and nephew tackled him onto the floor by running from the kitchen island all the way to where he getting on the ground thinking he would wrestling Penny.

Maya giggled into his ear. “Got ya Uncle Sheldon.”

“One, two, three, pinned!” Amy hit her palm on the carpet counting down scoring the girls team another victory.

Grady jumped up, throwing his hands up in victory. “That’s how Texan’s play football.”

“It’s called wrestling, baby. Football is a little different. Oh uh - Penny, can you watch them for a second?” My phone started ringing where I got up from the couch heading into the guys apartment. Swiping the green answer button I pressed it to my ear hearing Ashley’s voice through the phone.

“Y/n, hey how have you been?”

I smiled even though she couldn’t see it through the phone. “I’m doing good. I’m actually at Penny’s neighbors apartment having a game night with my kids. What about you, how have you been?”

“I actually have some exciting news. Ryker and I are pregnant and we’re having the baby shower this weekend.” She squealed with delight.

Her and Ryker had gotten married two years after Georgie and I had the twins. It was also around the time that we had been thinking about getting a divorce but we made sure to not let our situation ruin their big day. They weren’t in any rush to have kids so this was their first kid. “That’s amazing. I know you two have been wanting to be parents for a while now.”

“So are you going to be able to come because Hannah said she would come. Marlowe doesn’t have to be on the road until next weekend for his band. And Ryker and I were really hoping you and -“

I cut her off sighing heavily knowing exactly where this was going. “Please don’t say Georgie.”

“Look I know you two are going through a rough patch but-“

I responded back. “I’m not sure you would call dodging his phone calls for eight years a rough patch. I mean we got a divorce a few weeks after your wedding.”

“Regardless, I really want you to be there. We all used to be so close and I want our old gang back together even if it’s just for one weekend.” Ashley begged me with her sweet voice.

Running a hand down my face I sniffed back some tears. I truly did miss our friend group and being around Sheldon’s reminded me of how good we used to have it back in Medford. “I’ll see if Penny minds watching the kiddos. And I’ll start driving tomorrow-“

“Y/n, someone’s at the door for you.” Any called from the hallway.

“I'll talk to you later, Ashley.” I hung up the phone call exiting the bathroom following Amy down the hall until we reached the living room and I saw who was standing in front of me making me halt in my tracks. “Georgie! What on earth are you doing here?”

“I got a call from Ryker asking or more like pressuring me to come to his and Ashley’s kid baby shower.” He explained rubbing the back of his neck telling me he was nervous to ask me the question that left his mouth. “So I was thinkin’ we could just head down to our hometown together. What do you say bestie?”

I blinked, taken back by the way he said ‘bestie’. He usually called me by my name or simply darlin’. But I suppose he had finally figured out that what we had now wasn’t the same relationship we had in teenage years. “I guess I wouldn’t mind the company on the 3 hour flight back to Texas.” I briefly shifted my gaze to Penny who had a half smile on her face thinking this trip would be good for her cousin's friends.

Green and blue Sickfic

TW: Vomiting!

Blue’s POV:

Leaning over the toilet, I heave out vomit, it splattering all over the toilet sides.

I breathe heavily for a moment until I vomit more. God dammit, why is it only when I’m sick that the others are off the PC!?

“Bluee!” A voice suddenly rings through. Green’s voice. Oh thank god! “The others are still out, but I got tired and came back.”

I go to reply, but vile vomit comes out instead. I hack a fit of coughs, which green seems to hear as I hear a hum of confusion and footsteps becoming louder.

Green peeps through the doorway just in time to see me pour my life out into the toilet. In a panic, he rushes towards me, brushing the hair strands away from my mouth. He caresses my back with his hand in a circular motion as I continue to vomit.

Eventually, it comes to a stop. I breathe breathlessly, shakily reaching for toilet paper. Green grabs it and rips off some pieces, wiping my mouth for me.

He then reaches under my legs and places his arm around my back, lifting me up into the air. I rest my head against his chest as he carries me to my room, gently dropping me down on my bed.

He runs off out of my room, quickly coming back into with a plastic bag and a cloth soaked with water. He puts the bag down next to my bed and places the cloth on my forehead. It cools down my hot head. I let out a small sigh of relief.

“I’m going to get a pill and some soup for you, okay? Call out if you need me.” I nod my head and he leaves again.

After a while, he comes back in with soup, a pill and water. He hands the water and pill to me. I plop the pill into my mouth a gulp down the water. Green takes the glass and props it down on my bedside table before handing me the soup. I sit up, catching the cloth before it falls and putting it on the table. I take the soup and rest it on my lap.

“Do you want me to sit with you?” green asks, and I let out a small hum. He climbs onto the bed and climbs over me, sitting closely to my side. I rest my head on his shoulder as I begin to eat.

His hand caresses my scalp, and I feel myself become more tired as time passes on.

Once I finish the soup, I put the bowl on the bedside table. I lean down onto the bed, green following my movements. I cling onto his body and rest my head on his chest.

“You feeling better?”

“Mhm..”

I shut my eyes as green continues to caress my scalp, relishing in the nice, yet mildly uncomfortable, warmth.

Eventually, I fall into a sweet dream.

Yellow is a glutton when it comes to sweets

Little guy's a nightmare to deal with on halloween...

small story below the cut:

White sighed, walking through the doors of their base, the clamoring of his younger siblings trailing behind him.

"I got the most candy!!"

"No, I did. My dazzling looks convinced everyone to give me the treats I deserve."

"Aren't you a little old to be trick or treating anyways?"

There they went, bickering again. He'd expected them to be too tired after walking across the city all night. White certainly was tired.

"Umm....Big Bro? I didn't get too much candy...can you spare me some?"

"I can just buy you some candy, Green. I really wanted to stay home and hand out candy, but..."

"Really? That's even better, Big Bro!"

White decided not to think about it further.

While Black and Red argued, probably pulling in Aqua during the whole ordeal, White turned his attention to Yellow.

"Hey, Bluee! How much candy did you get?"

"312 pieces. 14 full-sized candy bars, 100 lollipops, 36 apples...."

"Woow! Can I have some? Please? Please? Pleasee??"

White sighed. It wasn't halloween without Yellow making himself sick by eating double his body weight in candy. I swear, its like he never learns!

"Mmm..." Blue groaned. "No."

"Huh?! But why? You wanna eat it all? We can share it!"

White observed from a distance.

"You ever heard of the candy - granny?"

"The who-what now?"

"The candy-granny. Legend says that if you eat more than 2 pieces of candy on Halloween night, she'll come into your bedroom while you're sleeping and steal all your teeth."

Yellow looked... noticeably distressed at this point. Just where was Blue going with this...?

"No way?!" He listened with concern.

"Yes way, Yellow. Why don't you think I have teeth?"

Of course, none of them REALLY have teeth. That's everyone older than Red knows for sure. You don't really NEED teeth when you're a robot...

...Which was something Yellow SHOULD know, but didn't.

"Oh, goodness!!" Yellow found himself in a cold sweat at this point, stricken with terror over the entity known as the Candy-Granny.

"See, Yellow? I'm trying to protect you. So hand over the candy."

To White's surprise, Yellow shoves the pile of candy that he'd normally scarf down overnight over towards Blue. Noticably, he's pretty jittery and freaked out over the whole situation. Probably something White's gonna have to worry about when it's time for bed--

"Im going to bed right now!!" Yellow hightails it outta there. "I don't want the candy-granny to get me on Halloween night!! So I'm going to bed!!"

"Goodnight, then. Sleep tight. Don't let the Candy Granny bite."

Blue yawned. White just stood there, in surprise over the whole ordeal. That was two less problems that he'd have to deal with tonight- Yellow eating more candy than humanly possible and one of the siblings struggling to sleep.

Red and Black had already "tuckered themselves out" thanks to Aqua's mediation techniques. Green, being the little guy that he is, had already begun to drift asleep when they'd gotten home. Pink's accounted for...

Everything fell into place. For once.

White watched as Blue unwrapped a piece of Yellow's candy and ate it, his expression not changing in the slightest.

...Well, that explains it.

Thoughts on Blue Beetle? (Jaime Reyes)

Oooh! A nice ask! I'll be happy to share my thoughts on Jaime Reyes.

:Ahem!!!:

I think Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle is neat.

Now much of my understanding of the characters comes from a mixture of research, some reading of the 2012 Bluee Beetle and reading the Blue Beetle 2016 series where Khaji Da is considered mystic-tech in order to mesh better with the magic world of DC and I'm actually a fan of that rather than alien technology connected to the Reach because I don't think they sound convincing, cool, or are intimidating enough to be enemies of the Green Lantern. That's a whole entire different discussion though.

Regadless, I really find the character appealing. I think it was defeinitely a smart move to turn this legacy character into a character of color alongside retooling the very mantle itself. I feel the character is hampened because a) he faces a direction-related problem like Cyborg as in what the hell can be doing and b) the character is seen as "young" so his character will have a hard time growing up.

He follows the same problem many young DC characters (Cassandra Cain, Tim Drake, Khalid Nassour, Dick Grayson, Stephanie Brown, Raven, Beast Boy, Cassandra Sandsmark) have when the characters are perpetually stuck being young. From adolence (Tim, Jaime, Cassandra) to being grown young adults (Dick, Khalid), these characters don't age too obviously and they get drawn so varyingly young. To me, Jaime falls under the category where he's just stuck in high school and it isn't up until NOW writers have begin exploring otherwise.

But yeah, he's a cool character and I hope to see him in the big screen soon.
